Joan Laporta is surely satisfied with the results he has obtained during this transfer window. Although he has not yet been able to fulfill all the wishes of coach Xavi Hernandez, who still wants a creative midfielder such as Bernardo Silva or Giovani Lo Celso, he has managed to sign Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, Mikayil Faye, Oriol Romeu and Vitor Roque, who will join in 2024.
And all this was achieved in a difficult context for the club, who are still facing serious financial problems that have forced them to lower the total wages of the squad. Therefore, they certainly did not expect that a few weeks before the start of a new season the fans would be furious about a decision that has nothing to do with what happens on the field.
Just a few days ago the new kits that Barcelona will use this year were officially presented. The home kit has no major differences with those of previous seasons, as it maintains the design and the traditional colors of the club.
The problem is the away kit, as it has an unusual feature for Los Culés: it is white. This may seem a minor detail, but for the fans it was a hard blow, as they believe that it is too similar to the jersey of Real Madrid, their rivals in Spain. Some of the reactions that have been posted on social networks say: "They will dirty Barcelona's shield with white" and "Seeing Barça dressed in white hurts the eye, it is to resemble everything we are not and mimic everything we abhor".
On Barcelona's official website you can read the description of the shirt, which states that it is a tribute to the times when Johan Cruyff played for the side: "Taking as a reference the shirt that the azulgrana team wore as a second kit during the 70s, white is the absolute protagonist".
