The Spanish coach and the Italian midfielder did not get along.

Fans around the world were shocked when the news broke that Marco Verratti and Neymar Jr. would not continue at Paris Saint-Germain this season by decision of the club's chiefs. The Brazilian forward quickly found a new destination: Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, where he will earn a fortune, like other stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

However, the Italian midfielder has not yet decided where he will play. This summer it was rumored that he could be transferred to other important teams in Europe, such as Manchester United and Atlético Madrid. But negotiations failed because PSG are asking for a fortune to let him leave. Therefore, the options that still remain are from Asian leagues: Al-Arabi from Qatar and Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia. Both clubs are willing to pay the nearly $50 million that Nasser Al-Khelaifi is asking for.

While these negotiations continue, Verratti was in the news this week as details emerged of the reasons why PSG ruled him out. According to Le Parisien, the player had a strong argument with Luis Enrique, in which the coach shouted at him "With me you will never play!". In addition, according to the French daily, the coach listed Verratti's alleged shortcomings: nights out and his unprofessional lifestyle. Apparently, Luis Campos, PSG's sporting director, was also present at the time.

It is not the first time that the Italian player has been criticized for such behavior. A few days ago, former player Jérôme Rothen gave an interview to RMC in which he criticized him for the same reasons. He said: "Verratti is dedicated to partying, smoking and drinking".

The end of a successful period

Whether to Saudi Arabia or Qatar, Marco Verratti will leave PSG this summer. There he had arrived in 2012 from Pescara and since then played 416 games, scored 11 goals and provided 54 assists. He also won 30 titles with the French side, including 9 Ligue 1 titles.
