The French side needs a top striker to win the Champions League.

Everything seems to indicate that the relationship between Kylian Mbappé and Paris Sanit-Germain has no way back. The player has already announced that he has no intention of renewing his contract that runs out in June 2024, so his departure will happen no matter what. However, some in Paris still hoped to see him in the 2023/24 season, but that possibility seems increasingly distant.

On the one hand, because Mbappé made statements in an interview with L'Equipe that did not please his teammates and the club's owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. And also, because Real Madrid needs to add a striker during this transfer window to replace Karim Benzema, who left for Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.

With this scenario, all that remains is for the Spanish club to make an offer that satisfies the sheikh, something that could happen in the next few days. That is why Luis Enrique, PSG's coach, is already looking for players to sign to take Mbappé's place. One of the first targeted was Harry Kane, but the Tottenham star rejected the proposal because he prefers to go to Bayern Munich.

Now, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the French side will be looking for a Serie A striker: Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old Nigerian was a key player in the Napoli team that won the league title in the 2022/23 season, scoring 31 goals in 39 games. He also already has experience in Ligue 1, having played one year at Lille before being bought by the Italian side for $60 million.

Negotiations will not be easy

At Napoli they know that some of the most important sides in Europe are targeting Osimhen. That is why they will ask for a fortune to sell him this summer. Reports from Italy claim that they will not accept less than $150 million.
