Mbappé is ready, this is France's starting lineup to face Ireland

The striker will be part of Didier Deschamps' team this Thursday afternoon.

France will play this Thursday afternoon at the Parc des Princes in Paris against Ireland. It will be the fifth match for group B of the qualifiers for the European Championship to be played in Germany between June 14 and July 14, 2024. Les Bleus will be looking for a victory that will bring them even closer to the goal of qualifying as group leaders.

 

So far Didier Deschamps' team have won all the matches they played: 4-0 against the Netherlands, 1-0 against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, 3-0 vs. Gibraltar and 1-0 against Greece. This puts them in first place in the standings with 12 points, 6 points behind Greece who are second. Ireland and the Netherlands have 3 points and Gibraltar are last with 0.

For this match, the French coach will be able to count on most of his stars, except for some who are injured, such as Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea. The starting lineup this Thursday will be: Mike Maignan; Jules Koundé, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Theo Hernandez; Aurélien Tchouaméni, Adrien Rabiot; Ousmane Dembélé, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé; Olivier Giroud.

Also on the bench will be Alphonse Areola, Brice Samba, Benjamin Pavard, William Saliba, Jean-Clair Todibo, Axel Disasi, Boubacar Kamara, Youssouf Fofana, Eduardo Camavinga, Marcus Thuram, Kingsley Coman and Randal Kolo Muani.

 

Ireland aim to spring a surprise

So far Ireland have not performed well in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. They have barely managed to win one match (3-0 against Gibraltar), but have lost 1-0 against France in Dublin and 2-1 against Greece. For Thursday's match, coach Stephen Kenny chose this XI: Gavin Bazunu; Shane Duffy, John Egan, Nathan Collins; Jason Knight, Alan Browne, Josh Cullen, Jayson Molumby, Enda Stevens; Adam Idah, Chiedozie Ogbene.
