The Citizens do not want to waste any more time with this.

Bernardo Silva is one of the best midfielders in the world. Since his arrival at Manchester City in 2017 from Monaco, his level has been growing until he earned a place in Pep Guardiola's starting lineup. In the last season his performances were excellent and he was a key player in the team that conquered the treble; especially in the Champions League, where he scored two goals in the semifinals against Real Madrid.

His talent and leadership attracted the attention of the main clubs in the world, who started conversations with the English side to try to negotiate his transfer. Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain showed the most interest. Los Blaugranas' coach, Xavi Hernandez, considers that his squad lacks an attacking midfielder, and Silva is the main favorite. The French side need to replace Lionel Messi, who left as a free agent for Inter Miami this summer. That is why they want a player who can take charge of playmaking and assist his teammates, as the Argentine forward did.

Initially, Manchester City put a price tag on Silva and asked for €80 million for him. But then Pep Guardiola gave a press conference in which he assured that the Portuguese midfielder is key to his team: "He is so important for us. We want him to stay and we will do everything we can because he wants to stay. Replacing him would be very difficult.

So now the Citizens have made a final decision. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, they have told Barcelona and PSG that they will not negotiate Silva at any condition. And not only that, they will also offer him a contract renewal with a significant increase in his salary.

He can change it

The only thing that can twist Manchester City's decision is Bernardo Silva's desire. Reports indicate that his intention was to leave for Barcelona and, should he express this to the English side, he could force his exit this summer, provided a satisfactory offer arrives.
