Group A of the Champions League has two favorites: Bayern Munich and Manchester United. Both are clubs with a successful history in Europe's most important tournament: the Germans have won the title 6 times (1974, 1975, 1976, 2001, 2013 and 2020), while the English were champions 3 times (1968, 1999 and 2008). That is why they seem to be the teams with the best chances of advancing to the next stage, although Galatasaray from Turkey and Kopenhagen from Denmark will do their best to do so as well.
Manchester United will arrive in Munich with a mission: to improve the performance of the last few games and get a good result that will allow them to calm the conflicts they have had in the last few weeks. Coach Erik Ten Hag has been blamed by fans for the team's poor start in the Premier League, with 3 defeats in 5 games.
Bayern Munich are better. In the first 4 games of the Bundesliga they have 3 wins and a draw, which allows them to lead the standings with 10 points, along with Bayer Leverkusen. Moreover, the more than $100 million they spent this summer to sign Harry Kane was worth it, as the English striker has scored 4 goals in 4 games.
German coach Thomas Tuchel decided that the starting lineup of his team will be: Sven Ulreich; Konrad Laimer, Min-jae Kim, Dayot Upamecano, Alphonso Davies; Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka; Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sané; Harry Kane.
Boss Erik Ten Hag has had huge problems putting together the team on Wednesday, as several players are injured, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount. The XI will be: Andre Onana; Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Sergio Reguilon; Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes; Facundo Pellistri, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund.
