The striker has shown great performances at Manchester City and Argentina.

When Julian Alvarez arrived at Manchester City from River Plate in exchange for $22 million in the summer of 2022, fans thought he would have little involvement in the team and there was even speculation about his possible loan transfer to other Premier League clubs. But Pep Guardiola, after a few training sessions, decided it was in their best interest to keep him with them.

And since then, everything went perfectly. In his first season in England, the striker played 49 games, scored 17 goals and provided 4 assists, being part of the squad that won the Treble. He also shone in the World Cup with the Argentine National Team, where he scored 4 goals and was champion together with Lionel Messi.

This made him one of the stars of the Premier League. And this season his importance in the team is much greater: he scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 12 games, being part of the starting lineup in most of them. But this has also caused a problem for the Citizens, as more and more clubs are now interested in taking him.

A few days ago the newspaper Sport reported that the chiefs of Barcelona are following him with attention. The problem is that they don't have the money to make an offer for him. But Real Madrid do. According to Radio Continental, Los Merengues contacted Alvarez's agent to let him know that they are interested in him and to know his opinion about a possible transfer next summer.

What will happen with him?

Although Julian Alvarez is becoming more and more important at Manchester City, reports indicate that he is excited about the possibility of playing in Spain. Real Madrid could take advantage of this situation and try a transfer in 2024, although they know that for that they will have to pay a lot of money to the Citizens, who have a contract with the player until June 2028.
