The Spanish winger has had very good performances this season.

Ferrán Torres arrived at Barcelona in 2022 from Manchester City and the fans had a lot of expectation with him. However, in his first few seasons at the Catalan side things did not go as expected and he gradually lost his place in the team. It was even rumored that the club's chiefs were considering his departure this summer to reduce the wage bill; something that finally did not happen, especially because other forwards such as Ousmane Dembélé, Ansu Fati and Abde left.

And that turned out to be a great decision, as his performances in the 2023/24 season have been very good. He has played 10 games between La Liga and Champions League and has scored 4 goals. In the squad he has had a lot of participation, either as a winger or as a centre-forward, replacing Robert Lewandowski. In addition, he became an important player for coach Luis De La Fuente in the Spanish National Team.

After the international break in October, Torres gave an interview to El Hormiguero and told how he feels: "Now I'm in a moment in which I have a lot of self-confidence. Last year was hard, but today I think it has been the best year of my life because I learned a lot. I got more positive things out of it than negative ones and thanks to that I built the Ferran Torres I am today".

The secret of his success

Ferrán Torres then revealed the decision he took to be able to continue his professional career with more peace of mind: “I have blocked all the press. I have done it for me, for my own good, for my wellbeing and for my mental health. I don't read anything or have any contact with the press because I don't care what they say about me. I know what I do right, what I do wrong and what I sacrifice to get what I want. The problem we people have is that, after reading 100 good comments and one bad one, we keep the bad one. So why am I going to read 100 good ones if I'm going to keep the bad one?”
