Four footballers and one coach will be present in Turkey this Saturday seeking to repeat the glory of the most important club tournament in Europe. In total, only five protagonists have already won a Champions League, while the rest will be aiming for their debut.
Erling Haaland and Lautaro Martínez, two prominent scorers of a new generation, will lift the coveted trophy for the first time in their careers. Other renowned protagonists such as Ilkay Gündogan and Edin Dzeko, with more experience in the tournament, are also in the contention.
Although Italian and English teams will face each other in Istanbul, two of the four footballers who have already won a Champions League are Belgians. Both Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne were young when they were part of the Chelsea squad that won in 2012.
Another player who will seek to make history and win this tournament with the two most important teams in Lombardy is Matteo Darmian, who has already triumphed with Milan and will now try to conquer the title with Inter Milan. The fourth footballer in question is the legendary British goalkeeper Scott Carson, who celebrated with Liverpool in 2005.
Regarding the coaches, Pep Guardiola and Simone Inzaghi will lead the final, but neither of them won a Champions League as a player. The difference is that the Spaniard has celebrated as a coach, and on two occasions, while leading Barcelona.
