The Portuguese striker has a very strict training routine and his tastes are bizarre.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time. Since his debut in Sporting Lisbon in 2002, he has made an impressive professional career, playing in the best clubs in the world, such as Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus, participating in 5 World Cups with the Portugal National Team and winning many important titles, such as the Champions League, Premier League, Serie A and La Liga.

In addition, he has also stood out individually. He received 5 times the Ballon d'Or award for the best player in the world and is the top scorer in the history of soccer, with more than 850 goals. Nobody has scored more goals with a national team than him, nor more goals in the Champions League.

However, to achieve so much success and to remain among the elite of world soccer for so many years, CR7 has had to make sacrifices. He is famous for his hard work, his training discipline and his winning mentality. But it's not just that. Other factors are also key for athletes to be successful, such as rest and good nutrition.

Helio Loureiro spoke about the latter. He was the cook of the Portugal National Team for 9 years and that is why he has cooked many times for Cristiano Ronaldo. During an interview, he revealed what is the Portuguese striker's favorite dish and surprised everyone: the golden cod.

What did he say?

Loureiro revealed: "Cristiano not only devours soups and grilled fish. He also likes one of the star dishes of Portuguese gastronomy, the tasty bacalao 'á braz', and shuns ready-made food. Among players, it used to be a common belief that neither fish nor vegetables provided enough energy, but the evolution in nutrition has changed the way professional footballers think and nowadays all or almost all top athletes know that healthy eating allows them to perform better".
