Matches between Brazil and Argentina always attract the attention of fans from all over the world. It is logical, considering that they are two of the most important soccer teams and have a decades-long rivalry between them. This has become even stronger in recent years, since they faced each other in the 2019 and 2021 Copa America, and especially since that match suspended by Brazilian health authorities in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
For many years the favorites in these duels were the Brazilians. They had the best players in the world, such as Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Kaka. However, lately this has changed and now the favorites were the Argentineans, who have Lionel Messi and since the arrival of coach Lionel Scaloni have found a style of play that allowed them to win the World Cup in Qatar.
But once again the news were situations that happened off the field. While the teams were getting ready to start playing and the Argentine anthem was being played, fights broke out between fans of both countries in one of the stands of the Maracana stadium. Then the Brazilian police intervened and a violent sequence began, forcing Lionel Messi and his teammates to approach the stands to try to calm things down.
The Argentine players returned to the locker room and finally decided to go out on the field to play the match. There Leo had an argument with Rodrygo, Real Madrid's forward, which was later joined by Rodrigo De Paul. Finally, after almost half an hour delay, the match started normally.
During the first minutes of the match, the Argentines are the ones who control the ball and try to create dangerous situations, while the Brazilians try to recover the ball quickly and take advantage of the speed of the forwards.
